U.S. supports change and national elections in Ethiopia

US supports change in Ethiopia and national elections – US Secretary of State
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has announced that the United States supports the ongoing process of change in Ethiopia and the upcoming elections.
The Foreign Minister of United States held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
During the meeting, they also stressed the importance of bilateral relations between Ethiopia and the United States.
In his discussion, the Minister expressed concern over the crisis in the Tigray region, noting that reliable and unrestricted humanitarian assistance should be provided to ensure the continued loss of life.
He said his country would support the process of change in Ethiopia and the next election.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed also thanked the United States for its initiative in supporting the ongoing transformation in Ethiopia.
The Prime Minister said in a statement on his Twitter account that efforts to build a democratic, prosperous and peaceful Ethiopia will reach a better level with strengthened US-Ethiopian relations.
