About 1,000 the North Command officers released
About 1,000 the North Command officers, including Brigadier General Adamneh Mengiste, have been released during a joint search by members of the Defence Forces and the Federal Police after being held hostage by the TPLF junta.
Director General of Defence Indoctrination, Major General Mohammed Tesema, told ENA that the TPLF junta kidnapped them after a dinner party.
Accordingly, the Joint Task Force (JTF) and the Federal Police (FP) released the officers without incident.
Major General Mohammed said that about 1,000 released officers have now joined the army.
Among those released by the army was the Deputy Commander of the Northern Command, Brigadier General Adamneh Mengeste.
Major General Mohammed said hunting of Junta members has intensified. He said the joint operation by the Defence Forces and the Federal Police has intensified.
