The House of Federation has decided not to have any contact with the Tigray Regional State.
The decision follows an emergency meeting of the House of Federation on August 30, 2012, which ruled that elections in the Tigray region had not been held, held and will not be held.
The Standing Committee on Constitutional Affairs and Identity Matters, which monitors, passed the decision at its regular meeting today.

The second federal government will work with the legal institutions of the region, including the city and kebele administrations, focusing on the needs of the people of Tigray for development and basic services.
Third, the implementation of the decision should be monitored by the Speaker of the House of Federation and the relevant standing committee.
