Grand Renaissance Dam has started filling

The Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Energy announced that the Grand Renaissance Dam has started filling

The Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy, Dr. Sileshi Bekele said the construction of the Grand Renaissance Dam is in line with the natural construction process of the dam.
He also said that satellite images of the dam are accurate.

According to Dr. Sileshi Bekele, Ethiopia’s negotiations on the Renaissance Dam will take place not only for the current generation but also for the benefit of future generations.

This combination image made from satellite images taken on Friday, June 26, 2020, above, and Sunday, July 12, 2020, below, shows the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam on the Blue Nile river in the Benishangul-Gumuz region of Ethiopia. New satellite imagery shows the reservoir behind Ethiopia’s disputed hydroelectric dam beginning to fill, but an analyst says it’s likely due to seasonal rains instead of government action.
