320 Junta members to enter Ethiopia from Sudan destroyed
An armed force of the TPLF Junta who fled to the Sudan after involving in the brutal Maikadra massacre has been fully destroyed while attempting to enter the country via Humera.
The Ministry of Defense said action has been taken against 320 members of the junta who were trying to smuggle weapons from Sudan.
He noted that some members of the junta were captured.
The Chief of Defense Staff, Brigadier General Tesfaye Ayalew, said in a press statement that the stolen and confiscated satellite phones, radios and medicines were seized by the army.
The Chief of Defense Staff said the Defense Forces had seized information that was being leaked to the Sudanese Defense Forces.
According to Brigadier General Tesfaye, members of the Junta were organized by three groups from abroad. The second group will provide training in Khartoum, Sudan, and the third will be in the country, Brigadier General Tesfaye said.
