12 Sep 2018 – (EP) A delegation of the Council of the Amhara Regional State, led by its Speaker will travel to Eritrea tomorrow.
The delegation consists of 20 members including religious leaders, youth leaders, and the region politicians will stay in Eritrea for five days.
The purpose of the visit, according to the Amhara State Communication Director, Nigussu Tilahun, is to strengthen people to people ties.
The head of the regional state’s communication affairs bureau also said that an Eritrean delegation led by President Isaias Afeworki will visit the Amhara regional state.
In the May 2010 Ethiopia’s Regional State Council elections, the Amhara National Democratic Movement (ANDM) won all 294 seats in the Amhara Region.
The party chairman is Demeke Mekonnen, who replaced Addisu Legesse in 2010.
